Do Hong Kong phones support eSIM?
Support depends on the model and purchase region. Apple lists different arrangements for particular iPhones sold in Hong Kong and Macao, including models with two physical SIMs. Do not assume that all Hong Kong iPhones support eSIM, or that none do. Check your exact model against the manufacturer’s current instructions.
Can one plan cover Hong Kong and mainland China?
Only when both destinations are explicitly included in the plan’s coverage. Check Macao separately too if it is part of your itinerary. A Hong Kong product name is not a regional coverage promise. For separate plans, keep both instructions and confirm which line should provide data at each destination.
Do I need a Hong Kong phone number?
Decide whether you need internet access only or also local calls and SMS. A data plan does not automatically supply a Hong Kong number. If a booking, service or app requires a particular type of number or verification, check that requirement directly and compare it with the exact plan before buying.
What should I prepare before arrival?
