What does 1 GB per day mean?
It means a daily allowance, not a single 10 GB balance to use whenever you like on a ten-day trip. Check when each day resets and what happens after the allowance is used. The plan’s rules, rather than the word “daily”, determine whether data stops or continues at a reduced speed.
How much data do I need in Japan?
Look at your phone’s recent mobile-data usage as a starting point. Download maps and entertainment before leaving, and decide whether you will share data with another device. Compare a plan’s daily limit with your busiest day, not just an average across the trip. Hotspot support must be checked separately.
When should I install my Japan eSIM?
Your eSIM validity starts when it first connects to a supported network. Installing the eSIM does not start the countdown. Set it up with a reliable internet connection, then select it for mobile data at your destination.
Can I keep my usual phone number?
On a compatible dual-SIM phone you can keep your home line alongside a travel eSIM. Choose the travel line for mobile data and review your home carrier’s call, SMS and roaming charges. A travel data plan does not automatically include a Japanese number. Check the device and plan instructions before changing settings.
